Create Accessible Math Paper

  • Use a Word Processor or LaTeX (free)
    • In LaTeX, use math mode to format equations properly.​
    • In Word, use the built-in Equation Editor or MathType for mathematical notation.
  • In Microsoft Word, run the Accessibility Checker to identify and fix any issues.​
  • In LaTeX, ensure your document follows best practices for accessible PDF output.
  • An alternative is to create an image of an equation and then insert the image into a document with an ALT tag. ALT tags can be written in Nemeth's MathSpeak for those who have learned the system.
