President of the Friends Council

On behalf of the Friends of the Library, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our LibGuide.  Founded in 1996, the Friends support the library and the Otterbein family which includes students, alumni, faculty and administration.

We are excited to continue this journey of collaboration by offering avenues to support the library and its constituents through the Textbook Affordability fund, Belonging Endowment, bike share program, Erin McKenzie collection, and current fundraising efforts dedicated to benefiting the Archival Department. We will continue to establish new partnerships with other campus and Westerville community organizations as well as to sponsor awards for student workers at the library, host talks by Common Book authors for members, and to sponsor the library bookmark design contest.

Please keep an eye out for our annual in-person events such as the above-mentioned Common Book Author Talk in October as well as the Otterbein Singers fundraiser in March.

We invite you to explore this guide to get to know the Friends and what we do to be of service to the Courtright Memorial Library. We also invite any of you who might be interested to become a member of the Friends of the Library and/or contribute to the Archive fund.

Margaret Doone, President of the Friends of the Library Council
