Most of her time is now devoted as a volunteer in the Middle Xingu Indian reservation in the Amazon, promoting sports and fighting the abuse of alcohol and drugs. She gathers and records information on these people, their way of life and the surrounding nature. This closeness with nature and the daily life of the Indians gave Alice inspiration as a photographer. Her keen and demanding eye captures what ours cannot see.
This is a very small list of artists that work with or within Brazilian indigenous populations. Please note that Brazil has an enormously rich array of artists and traditions, including Tarsila Do Amaral, Lygia Clark, and Hélio Oiticia, to name just a few.
