Equine Business Management Guide

This guide will provide resources and assistance to students majoring in Equine Business Management within the Equine Science Department.

Equine Business Management Major at Otterbein

The Equine Business major is designed for the student whose primary interest is in pursuing a career managing an equine facility, and/or being involved in other equine-related businesses, including equine insurance adjusters, bloodstock agents, editors and writers, administrators of racing and breeding organizations, racetrack and breeding farm administrators, and those involved in the marketing of horses or horse-related products. This interdisciplinary major draws course material from the following departments:

  • Equine Science
  • Business, Accounting & Economics
  • Communication
  • English
  • Mathematical Sciences.

Students earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Required Courses for Equine Business

Off Campus Access

When you are OFF CAMPUS. When you click on any database such as CINAHL, to search for articles, you will see a red box asking for your user name and password. This is the same one you use for your Otterbein OZONE or Web Mail.Remember it is Case-specific. So if your password has capital letters in it, type it in exactly.

When you Link To Ohiolink or the EJC (Electronic Journal Center) : You will be asked to choose an institution (Otterbein) and for your name and your Barcode number. This is your Cardinal Card number that starts with 7777-- enter all 16 digits.
